Clinical Focus, Teaching, Research

Biology-Minded Periodontal Care

Dr. Daneshmand served as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Periodontics at the USC School of Dentistry and has lectured at medical symposia. Her clinical interests range from advanced gum disease treatment to aesthetic crown lengthening, gum grafting, and the cosmetic gum work that gives patients meaningful confidence in their smile.

Early in her career she co-authored peer-reviewed research on antimicrobial therapy in periodontal treatment, studying how controlled-release doxycycline suppresses bacteria below the gumline after deep cleaning. That interest in the oral microbiome still shapes how she treats gum disease today, with microbiome-aware, biologically minded care.

Care Attuned to the Whole Person

Dr. Daneshmand has been a longstanding advocate for metal-free dentistry, biocompatible materials, and microbiome-aware care. She has a particular focus on the connection between hormonal health and periodontal wellness, especially during pregnancy, perimenopause, and menopause, and has built a strong following among women seeking specialist care attuned to their whole-body health.

In 2017 she founded the Los Angeles chapter of Miracle Babies, a nonprofit dedicated to uniting families with their critically ill newborns in the NICU. The group she brought together has funded NICView cameras at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, mental health programs for NICU families, and transportation services that reunite families with their newborns.

She practices alongside her husband and partner, Dr. Abdy Moshrefi, giving every complex case the benefit of two board-certified specialists.
